Howdy!

If you’re grieving a loss or the state of the world, feeling anxiety about being a functioning adult while everything feels like it’s on fire, or trying to figure out who you are after leaving a difficult relationship, please know you aren’t alone.

There’s a lot of uncertainty right now, and you may feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and stuck in a life that doesn’t align with what you want. I believe it’s possible to feel and work through our difficult emotions, struggles, and reactions to the world around us by first naming the hard things, then building our capacity to respond to them.

I help queer folks, especially men, struggling with grief, anxiety, and relationship transitions through a warm, practical, and affirming therapeutic style. This means that I provide a space for you to talk about what’s on your mind, feel like someone else (me) really hears and cares about what’s going on, and learn practical skills you can take with you outside of therapy.

I offer individual, couples, and family therapy. We’ll start with a free 30-minute consultation to make sure we’re a good fit. Next, we’ll schedule an intake session to talk about your life so far: childhood, relationships, religious beliefs, you name it. From there, we’ll explore what you want to get out of therapy and how to get there.

If you think we might be a good fit, click here or email me at kabir@vadacounseling.com to schedule a free consultation.

Kabir is a Licensed Master of Social Work in Texas, under the supervision of Max Casero, LCSW-S.

ABOUT ME

I’m South Asian, trans, and neurodivergent. I think it’s important to name these parts of myself, as many of us seek out therapists who look like us or share similar lived experiences.

Outside the therapy room, I’m usually reading nonfiction and info-dumping the best bits to my wife (or anyone who will listen). I also love pestering my two cats, Mooshoo and Stella, and rewatching early 2000s Bollywood movies on repeat.

I received my Master’s in Social Work from University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor’s in Social Work from University of Texas at Austin.

Fees + insurance

Below are my standard rates for each service. I understand these rates may not be affordable for everyone, so I can offer sliding scale (lower) rates or provide referrals to lower cost providers.

  • Individual therapy (50 mins) - $120

  • Couples/family therapy (60 mins) - $160

I’m currently in-network with Aetna, Curative, and United (Optum). If you have health insurance through another company, we can provide a superbill for you to submit to them for out-of-network reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company to ask if your policy includes reimbursement for out-of-network outpatient therapy services.
